Cooking for yourself

Cooking isn't that difficult as long as you can follow directions. My lunch was a dijon pork chop and wild rice with vegetables.
Spread some dijon mustard on the pork chop, then coat it with Shake and Bake. Put it in the toaster oven for 15 minutes. Five minutes before it's done, throw some Birdseye Steamfresh Vegetables in the microwave for 3 1/2 minutes.
Very tasty, easy, less calories than eating out. Choose the beverage of your choice as an accompaniment.

Independence and Interdependence

One of the things I noticed about OWS is the persistent refrain of wanting to be taken care of by society. Humans are group creatures so we are frequently going to be involved with others and dependent on others. At the same time, self-sufficiency helps build our self-confidence, maintain our morale, and free us from others' idiosyncrasies.

The point of this blog is to address the joy of independence and the need for interdependence. Some of it will be philosophical and some very practical hands on. I hope you find it useful and enjoyable.
